Finmedia has the pleasure to inform you about its organizing the “Central & South-East Europe Energy Forum 2010 ”, an event which will take place on 13-14 May 2010, in Bucharest, in the JW Marriott Grand Hotel.
In the context of the European Union energy and climate changes strategy and considering the projects on the transport of energy substances to improve the process of energy supplying for the EU countries, Central and Eastern Europe increases its importance as regards transport and the regional implementation of the EU strategy. In this region, Romania can play a fundamental role in the equation of energy security by the possibility of being part in all the transit pipeline projects.
Romania’s competitive advantages are: its own resources of hydrocarbons, coal and uranium, the large gas storing capacity in deposits depleted after 100 years, the hydro power energy system developed and the huge potential in the field of alternative energy - being the biggest in South-East Europe in the field of wind power energy, the south-east of Dobrogea ranking second at the continent level. Moreover, Romania has off-shore gas deposits in the Black Sea, being the only EU country in this position.
This complex context generates the launching of some questions for which Finmedia intends to find an answer, by organizing this regional forum:
Which is the dynamics of the oil and natural gas market in Central and South-East Europe? Which is the national energy strategy? Which is the geo-strategic situation?
How will the energy security be assured in South-Eastern Europe? What is the national energy strategy? Which will be the impact of establishing the national companies Electra and Hidroenergetica? Which is the general context and the dynamics of the electric energy market in Romania and at regional level? Which are the development trends in nuclear energy in Romania? Which is the legal framework for the energy sector? Who will finance the national and regional energy projects? Which is the national action plan in the field of renewable energy? Which is the energy efficiency plan?
“Central & South-East Europe Energy Forum 2010 ” is an opportunity of analyses and debates for the energy sector, bringing together, in a dynamic environment, well-known representatives from: the Ministry for Economy, Commerce and the Business Environment, the European Commission, international energy associations and fora, companies in the field of energy sectors (crude oil and gas, electric energy, nuclear, renewable and thermal power energy), providers of solutions, equipment and services, experts, investors, banks, advisories, law firms, IT solutions providers and big energy-consuming companies.
Hoping that the topics have captured your attention and that you consider a must attending this event, please find enclosed the programme of the “Central & South-East Europe Energy Forum 2010”.
